Never Give Up

One day, a farmer’s donkey fell into an old well. The donkey cried loudly for hours. The farmer tried to think of a way to save him. But after a while, he gave up. The donkey was old, and the well was dry. He thought, “I’ll just fill the well with dirt and forget about it.” He called his neighbors for help. They all brought shovels and began throwing dirt into the well. At first, the donkey cried even louder. But soon, he became quiet. The farmer looked down and was surprised. With every shovel of dirt that landed on his back, the donkey was doing something clever— he shook off the dirt and stepped up . As more dirt came, the donkey kept shaking it off and stepping up. Bit by bit, he rose higher. Finally, to everyone’s surprise, the donkey reached the top and walked out of the well! Moral: Life will throw dirt on you. But don’t give up.  Shake it off and take a step up.  That’s how you get out of any deep hole— never stop, never give up!

The Apple Tree and the Farmer

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who lived near a forest. He had a big garden. In the garden, there was an  old apple tree  and many other plants and flowers. When the farmer was a little boy, he loved the apple tree. He played under it and ate its sweet apples. The tree made him very happy. But now the tree was old. It didn’t give apples anymore. So, the farmer thought, “This tree is useless. I will cut it down and use the wood to make furniture.” He picked up his axe and started to chop the tree. Suddenly, many small animals came out of the tree. There were  squirrels, birds, insects , and even a  grasshopper . They all lived in the tree. They cried out, “Please don’t cut the tree! This is our home. We have nowhere else to go.” But the farmer didn’t listen. He lifted his axe again. The squirrel said, “My babies live here. Once there was a big lion in the forest. He was strong and hungry. Every day, he ate one animal. All the animals were afraid. One day, a clever rabbit said, “I have a plan.” The next day, the rabbit went to the lion. He said, “Sorry, I am late. Another lion wanted to eat me.” The lion was angry. “Another lion? Take me to him!” The rabbit took the lion to a deep well. The lion looked inside and saw his own face in the water. He thought it was the other lion. He jumped into the well to fight. But he could not come out. All the animals were happy. The clever rabbit saved everyone.
